What's the point?

My 34th birthday is coming up on Tuesday. Never before have I just wanted to ignore it more than I do this year. Not only are we broke, but try as I might, I couldn't think of anything that I wanted more than to just be done with this stupid life I'm living.

Every day I go to work to make money to pay bills.  I never have money left over to do anything fun, but when I try to think of what I consider fun...  Well, the answer is nothing.  Nothing is fun anymore.

There is no point to doing anything, or buying any material item. If you go do something, you've spent money that should be going to bills on something short-lived.  In a few minutes, hours, whatever, it's over with and you have nothing to show for it.

If you buy something...nothing is made to last anymore. If you buy something, it will either break or be out of date within the next few months. Basicallly you are damned if you do and damned if you don't.

So, what can I do that makes me happy?  In all honesty, nothing.  This is not my home. Earth in it's current state is not my home.

I want my heavenly father to fulfill His promise to come back and end all of this misery. Everywhere we look there is death, destruction, famine, and crime.  There is nothing that we can do to stop it.
The ultimate evil has taken hold of our world.

Nearly everyone in the United States is living in a fantasy world. It is a world that exists only on their electronic devices. People communicate with eachother through cell phones and the internet.
Families talk to each other from different rooms in the same house by texting one another.
People spend so much time playing games on facebook doing stupid little chores for coins by clicking their mouse instead of doing the real chores their house so sorely needs.

I am guilty of this myself. It is so easy to get caught up in that fantasy world where you are the hero and actually making a difference.  The real world is a much more volitile place where people will actually disagree with you.  There are no clear and defined goals or achievements. You have to make the rules yourself and then play by them (because the rules that were already made for us by God aka The Ten Commandments are too hard to live by).

So, in this world of people who don't want to deal with eachother anymore.  The world where people would rather hurt others instead of help them, what do we have left?

What are we now?  What have we become?

The answer is that you can still make a difference.  You, yourself, individually!!! Yes, I'm talking to you!
When you are done reading this, turn off the damn computer.  Turn off the radio and the TV.  Do not turn them back on for a week.

This is a challenge!  Can you live for an entire week with No TV, No Radio, No Internet, No Computer, No Cell Phone, No Social Media of any kind?

What will you do with your time?  That's up to you, but I would suggest to start out by familiarizing yourself with the real world again.  Charity starts at home.  Clean your nasty house!  Stop eating out, throw away all those fast food wrappers, go to the grocery store and buy some groceries.  Cook your meals at home. Eat dinner at your newly cleaned dining room table with the spouse and the kids all together. Give everyone a chance to talk about their day.

Once you've taken back your house, you can start venturing out.  I'm sure your community has something you can do to help.  Just open your eyes.  We can each make this horrible world a little easier to live in until our Heavenly Father returns for us.

Social Anxiety and Your Life

I've been talking to a lot of people lately who seem to be very worried about what other people think about them.  People worry about all kinds of things, from the way that they look, to if they sound like an idiot when they talk. Some people are so worried about how others perceive them that they willfully give up living altogether to avoid having to be in any type of social situation, even if it means that they miss out on some really fun things that they would otherwise enjoy very much.

These complex feelings of worry, anxiety, sweating, blushing, or even fear is called Social Anxiety.  This is a real and treatable disorder.  If you would like to know more about clinical treatment...click HERE.

Now, onto the personal aspect of social anxiety.  Since social anxiety takes many forms and can be mild to severe, there are some things that you can do to help yourself.

1. Who's life are you living, yours or theirs? - If you allow others to dictate how you live your life, you are going to be miserable.  You should live your life to make yourself happy, successful and comfortable.  Spending your whole life worrying about what others "might be thinking" isn't going to accomplish anything but gray hair, wrinkles and stress.

2. Learn to acknowledge and accept the support of friends and family who do not judge you. - Sometimes it can be hard to tell if a person you just met is going to be judgmental or not.  That is okay, no one can tell right off the bat.  However, when you DO get to know someone and they have proven to be loving, supportive members of your inner circle...take advantage of it.  Do not shun them when they invite you to the movies, or the mall.  Having that loving, caring individual by your side will help you when you encounter a new person that may make you feel uncomfortable.

3. Try to remember that people are not BORN bad. - Humans in general are innately good.  We can become bad based on the events that happen to us during our lives.  A lot of people have a bad childhood, or life, and are still good people...(please feel free to read my LIFE STORY. )

4. Who are you in your Life Story? - Are you the hero or the villain?  Are you even the main character in YOUR story? Some people live their lives for their job or their kids...why aren't you living your life for yourself?  When you are laying on your deathbed, how many regrets will you have for not doing what you should have/could have/would have done?

You can overcome ANYTHING.  It doesn't matter what obstacles this life throws at you, you WILL get through it!  Don't let what other people think of you keep you from living your life and having fun.

Tweenagers

I've been taking the time to talk to my 11 year old about school, her life, her friends and things.  You might think that with 22 years separating us that things might have changed a lot since I was her age.

Actually, not so much, kids are kids and still doing the same things they have always done.  Maybe the clothes have changed, and some of the terminology has changed meaning, or some really old phrases making a comeback, but I am glad to know that I have had many of the same experiences that she is having now to help guide her through this craziness.

Right now she is looking forward to another cool freakin' birthday party thrown by none other than yours truly!  I've always tried my best to at least give her a cool party even if I can't afford to get her a cool present.  Sometimes the best present that you can give your child is popularity and friendship.

Our daughter has changed schools quite a few times in the last few years mostly because of our state to state relocation and life obstacles.  We are finally settled in a school district and so last year when I knew that we wouldn't be moving anymore for a while, we gave her a party at an amusement park with mini golf, go karts, laser tag, arcade games and the like.  We paid for her entire class to come, but only 10 kids showed up...go figure.

It was probably for the best because a few of them kept running off and what not.  That party started a trend for her though.  She has made quite a few friends since then.  The kids that did attend the party have regaled their classmates with tales of awesomeness.

This year my daughter has quite a few friends and has other kids jockeying for position to get invited to go to the next one that will most-likely be held at a Laser Tag place.  I told her she can only invite 10 kids this time, so it should be interesting to see who ends up being invited this time.

For all of you parents who have a hard time listening to your kids...please take the time and suffer through it. It's worth it!  Not only will you be more in tune with what is going on in your child's life, but later on, when they are teenagers who are too busy to spend five minutes with you, and detest your very presence in the house when their friends come over, your kid will at least stop when they pass through and give  you a kiss and say "I love you".  That's what I'm going for.  I want my daughter to still love me even when she thinks she knows more than me.

Stupid People Are the Reason...

Stupid people doing stupid things are the reason that we are losing all of our freedoms bit by bit.

From warning labels reminding people to remove the baby from the stroller before folding it up, to warning people about the HOT contents of their coffee cups at their local Starbucks, doesn't it seem that the world as a whole is taking this terrifying downward turn toward this place where no one can wipe their own ass without an instructional video to show them how?

Today the hot topics are the economy and gun control.  Once again the stupidity that got us to this place is unbelievable.  The economical problems of this country come down to simple math and stupid government officials that can't seem to understand the concept behind not spending more than you have!

Government math:  3,000,000,000,000,000 - 600,000,000,000,000,000 = Print more money and we'll borrow more from China!

As far as gun control, the President seems to be following the pattern of all the great leaders before him:

Adolph Hitler was the National SOCIALIST Leader and Reich Chancellor of Nazi Germany. During his horrific 12 year rule he was responsible for unleashing the bloodiest war to ever scourge mankind. Like all good socialists, Hitler consolidated and sustained his power by killing anyone who opposed him. In addition he commanded his minions to carry out the most widespread racial genocide ever perpetrated. By applying the practices of the industrial assembly line, some 6 million Jews and 8 million other "subhumans" were gassed and cremated in extermination camps which were constructed for no other purpose. In addition, uncounted millions of Jews, Gypsies, Russian POW's, Jehovah's witnesses, "terrorists", "criminals", "partisans", Christians, slavs, and others were shot, hanged, beaten to death, starved to death, worked to death, marched to death and perished in disease epidemics. The death toll attributed to his regime can never be truly known but most experts guess about 20 million killed for their racial identity or personal beliefs. This is in addition to the 50 million who perished as a direct result of military operations in the European war.

Communist Party Chairman and founder of the People's Republic of China. Mao Tse-Tung has the distinction of being listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the greatest mass murderer in human history. Because Red China was, and is, such a closed society, estimates of the numbers of those put death in order to bring the benefits of socialism to the masses vary considerably. Most figures are consistently between 40 million and 80 million. While mass killings of "enemies of the state" were apparently not as widespread as they were during the earlier years of his despotic rule, they do include the great slaughter of the "Cultural Revolution" which may have numbered a half million "counter-revolutionaries".

This extremely rare photograph of Khmer Rouge leader Pol Pot was taken at a jungle camp in Cambodia in 1993. After America deserted its allies in the Vietnam war, the domino effect swept socialism to power in Cambodia. Pol Pot quickly distinguished himself among his socialist brethren by wiping from the face of the earth fully one-third of Cambodia's population. Proclaimed the "Absolute Leader", he set the calendar to "Year Zero", outlawed mail, money and marriage, depopulated all cities and towns to the countryside and slaughtered over 2 million people in just 3 years. Had his socialist rule not been ended by a Vietnamese land grab in 1976, he might have ended up killing all the Cambodian people; an outcome which would doubtlessly please United Nations population control experts.

Joseph Stalin has well earned his place in history as one of the most bloodthirsty socialist tyrants who ever lived. Stalin simply picked up were Lenin left off, exterminating not only those who opposed his plans, but also those THOUGHT capable of opposition. Mass executions, artificially created famines, slave labor and death camps, forced migrations of whole racial and ethnic groups are among the expedients devised to slaughter between 40 million and 100 million human beings. Such totals do not include the 20 million who were killed during WWII. Victor Suvorov, a Red Army officer, wrote a book called "Inside the Soviet Army". In it, he cites demographic studies which show that the then extant USSR should have had 100 million more people than it did. Where did they all go? With socialism in power during that time, it isn't hard to figure out.

In conclusion...don't be STUPID!  Educate yourselves, educate your friends and family.  Learn from the past and don't let this happen to the United States! We are supposed to be the GREATEST NATION IN THE WORLD!

According to the FBI Uniform Crime Reports (UCR), in 1991 the U.S. murder rate was 9.8 per 100,000 people. In 2011, that number dropped to 4.7, which is almost a 54% drop in our murder rate. During that same period the U.S. violent crime rate dropped from 758.2 per 100,000 to 386.3 (a reduction of almost 50%).
Also according to the UCR, firearm murders have declined every year since 2006 from 10,177 murders to 8,583 in 2011 despite the population increasing in the United States. Nonfatal firearm crimes are dramatically decreasing as well. The Bureau of Justice Statistic shows that the crime rate for nonfatal violent crimes involving firearms dropped from 5.9 per 100,000 in 1993 to 1.4 in 2009 (over a 66% decrease). All of this is occurring despite the fact that there are more guns in America than ever before.

Money Saving Tips!

Hi Everyone! I know it's been a while since my last post.  Life tends to get in the way sometimes, but I would rather be living life in real time than on the computer most days anyway!

Today I thought that I would share some money saving tips and tricks with you.

First and foremost: Keep a positive attitude!  No matter what happens, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel!

Now on to the money saving:

  • Electric Savings

    • Electronic Device Chargers: These little buggers will nickel and dime you to death on your electric bill!  If you leave them plugged into the wall (even if your device is not attached to it) it is still pulling electricity.  Each one of these can pull between 1-4 cents per hour.  Unplug any AC adapter cords you have when not in use.  If you need to have them plugged in all the time, plug them into a switched outlet or powerstrip so that you can at least shut them off when you don't need them.

    • Video game systems: Video game systems such as the Wii, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and others don't actually turn off when you power them down.  They go into standby mode.  These systems can pull upwards of 5-10 cents per hour.  Plug these into a power strip and turn them off when not in use!

    • Prepay for your electric: If you electric company offers it, you may be able to prepay for your electric service.  This is a great way to monitor your electric bill.  It works like any other prepaid service.  There are credit card type reloadable cards that you charge up at an automated machine. You can load any amount of money on it.  The best part is the display that the box gives you.  It tells you how much money you are spending on your electric, everything from your current usage, to how much you have used over the past day, week and month.  After I got my M Power box, I was suprised at how much money we were wasting on electricity!  Depending on your service provider, you may be able to get a flat rate for your electric which can save you money in the long run.  Did you know that your electric company charges you different amounts at different times throughout the day?
